The Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group

The Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG) was established in November 1997 to foster collaboration, facilitate information exchange, and promote mutual assistance among central securities depositories (CSDs) and clearing organizations across the Asia-Pacific region.

ACG’s core mission is to enhance the development of securities markets in the region by encouraging knowledge sharing and cooperation among its members. The group also establishes committees, both permanent and temporary, to coordinate initiatives and support the advancement of clearing, settlement, and securities depository services in alignment with its objectives.

MKK has been a member of ACG since 2024.

AECSD

Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories

The foundation for the subsequent formation of the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD) was initiated in 2001 by the Central Securities Depositories of the Commonwealth of Independent Stated (CIS) countries. The formal establishment of AECSD occurred in Moscow in 2004 by the signing of the Resolution outlining the creation of the Association. The aim of the Association is to develop and expand inter-institutional securities depository operations, create a common space for central securities depositories and integrate them into global depository systems.

MKK is a member of AECSD since year 2015. Currently, MKK CEO and Board Member Dr. Ekrem ARIKAN is the term Chair of the Association. AECSD & AMEDA İstanbul Summit 2024 was held in Türkiye.

AMEDA

Africa and Middle East Depositories Association - AMEDA Organization

AMEDA was founded on April 27, 2005, and held its inaugural meeting in New York before the CSD 8th conference. This non-profit organization is made up of Central Securities Depositories and Clearing Houses in Africa and the Middle East. The primary objective of AMEDA is to provide a platform for its members to exchange information and experiences, while also supporting the development of local markets through mutual cooperation. Additionally, AMEDA aims to promote best practices in services such as depository, clearing, settlement, efficiency, risk management, corporate governance, and other related areas on a global scale.

AMEDA is a vital organization that plays a critical role in promoting the development and growth of financial markets in Africa and the Middle East. With its focus on collaboration, innovation, and best practices, AMEDA is well-positioned to drive positive change and support the continued growth and success of the financial sector in these regions.

MKK is a member of AMEDA since year 2014. Currently, MKK CEO and Board Member Dr. Ekrem ARIKAN is one of the board member of the Association. AECSD & AMEDA İstanbul Summit 2024 was held in Türkiye.

Merkezi Kayıt Kuruluşu A.Ş.

Merkezi Kayıt Kuruluşu A.Ş. (MKK) is the Central Securities Depository (CSD) and Trade Repository of Türkiye’s capital markets. Established in 2001, MKK provides its members with depository and data services, as well as corporate governance and investor services. Supported by its R&D capabilities, MKK also develops and delivers in-house technology and data platforms for use in domestic and international capital and financial markets.

MKK is an active member of the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA), the International Securities Services Association (ISSA), the Africa & Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA), the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD), the Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG), and the World Forum of Central Securities Depositories (WFC). MKK has been a member of ECSDA and ISSA since 2006; joined AMEDA in 2014 and AECSD in 2015; and became a member of ACG in 2024. MKK has held the chair of AECSD since 2023 and the chair of WFC since 2025.
